Daylight Awareness Week 2025 takes place from 3 to 7 November and explores how daylight can help build healthier, more sustainable, and fairer societies. Join the Daylight Academy for inspiring online lectures, panel discussions, and blog posts highlighting how daylight supports both people and the ecosystems we depend on.

In collaboration with Berlin Science Week 2025, additional in-person events will be held from 1–2 and 7–9 November. Participation is free of charge and open to everyone interested in the topics.

Certificate of Advanced Studies ‘Light and Chronobiology’

This interdisciplinary Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), offered by the University of Basel in collaboration with iHCDP, explores the biological and psychological effects of daylight. The program covers topics from chronobiology, medicine, architecture, psychology, and lighting design, with a strong focus on real-world applications in public health, clinical practice, and the built environment.
Participants gain practical and theoretical knowledge of how light affects human behavior, circadian rhythms, sleep, mood, and performance. The course combines online lectures with in-person workshops in Basel, Switzerland, and concludes with a written thesis related to the participant’s professional field.
